In Silence

	Hidden safely in the swamp
	along the Tamiami Trail
	a brightly colored flower grows
in silence, never seen by man.
But staunch it is and stolid,
	firmly rooted, deep and solid,
	emerging from the morning rain
to smile upon the world again.

	Hidden safely in my heart
	along whatever path I take,
my love for you has taken root
	in silence, growing every day.
The feeling's strong, it never fades
	into the sun-washed Everglades,
	emerging from the mourning pain
to smile upon the world again.
